PCSC Synchronous eLearning |
An unlimited number of days |
Provided students are equipped with Chromebooks at home, Paoli Community Schools (PCSC) will use synchronous eLearning days to meet the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) requirements for instructional time. |
Synchronous eLearning is defined as students logging in to live Google Meet sessions at set times and receiving guidance and instruction from teachers to complete assigned work. Students are responsible for completing assigned work in order to be counted present for the school day. |
Attendance: |
At the elementary level, students will have the same number of days missed to complete and submit their synchronous eLearning assignments. (Example: If school is missed for two days, students will have two additional school days to complete and submit assignments.) |
Students who do not complete at least 50% of the assignments within two days will be marked absent. |
No Internet Access: |
Note: If a student is unable to join a live Google Meet due to connectivity or other technical issues, completing the assigned work will fulfill the attendance requirement for the synchronous eLearning day. |
Students in grades K-6 will log in using the Google Meet link posted in their Google Classroom between 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on a synchronous eLearning day. Teachers will be available to meet with students during this designated time window. This may look slightly different in Grades K & 1. |
Students will have practiced this process during the school day to ensure they are prepared. All students should have access to their teacher's Google Classroom, know where to locate Google Meet links, and be prepared to log in using their Clever credentials or assigned usernames and passwords. |
Is Synchronous eLearning material graded? It is up to the teacher. |
