Developmental Preschool Teacher Position Overview
Paoli Community Schools, Throop Elementary School, is seeking a compassionate, dedicated Developmental Preschool Teacher to support young learners, ages 3–5, with developmental delays and disabilities. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment while delivering individualized instruction that promotes growth in communication, social-emotional skills, and early academics.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons
Implement, follow, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
Use play-based, hands-on learning strategies
Support student development in communication, behavior, and self-help skills
Collaborate with coordinators, therapists, teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
Maintain accurate student data and documentation
Communicate regularly with families
Implement positive behavior plans
Participate in conferences, department meetings, and faculty meetings
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or related field
Valid teaching license in Early Childhood Special Education (or ability to obtain)
Preferred:
Experience working with preschool-aged children with developmental delays
Knowledge of behavior supports and early intervention strategies
Experience with IEP development and progress monitoring
